NYC Food Truck Lunch: Bourgeois Pig & Vegetable Barley Soup From The Steel Cart

Perry, the voice behind New York Street Food, brings you his latest review on New York City food trucks.

There’s a new food cart splitting its time between Dumbo and Hudson Square called The Steel Cart. The cart is black with a logo of a chef’s knife, and from the look of the cart and the logo, it looked like a place we wanted to check out.

When we ran across The Steel Cart, it was parked on the NW corner of Varick & Vandam. The menu looked interesting, and we could not pass up something called a Bourgeois Pig, which costs $8.

You can add a mini-soup to any sandwich for $3.50, but we were splitting a soup and sandwich with someone else, so we got the full-size Vegetable Barley Soup for $6.
